Japan’s June is rainy season. Rainy season starts in Japan
And June is also known for “Ajisai”, the hydrangea.
Jay and I went to Kita-Kamakura, which is famous Ajisai spot.
Kita-Kamakura (North Kamakura) is especially famous for Ajisai.
We went there by car but probably because it was the season, it was soooooo crowded.
We couldn’t find any parking space near Kita-Kamakura area so we went to one station away to the Kamakura station.
We were able to park our car there and had a light lunch near the station.
Then we started to walk to Kita-Kamakura area.
Tokeiji is one of the famous Ajisai places in Kita-Kamakura.
I see why it is famous.
Ajisai are concentrated in small area.
But the temple is very tiny and I don’t know if it’s worth the money.
(But for us it’s worth the money because we are using the picture I took here as our profile picture! )
I took so many pictures of Ajisai in Kamakura and decided to use this picture as our June/July profile for Omoide House.
It was one of the reason why we went to Kamakura too.
I want to take seasonal pictures and use for Omoide House’s profile pictures.
I’m glad we were able to get one.
Violet/blue Ajisai from different angle.
Yes. There wasn’t as many Ajisai as I expected but enough to enjoy.
Engaku-ji Temple is one of the famous places for Ajisai in Kamakura.
It’s 100 yen more expensive than Tokei-ji Temple. But I recommend this temple more than Tokei-ji Temple. It’s worth it.
I guess this is the famous spot!
Because this is ticket to the Engaku-ji temple and I noticed I took the picture at the same spot!
This temple is nice to visit just for a stroll too.
I think it is relatively new and very large.
I felt Kyoto.
I like this whitish color Ajisai although it doesn’t really have an impact through pictures.
It looks whitish from far but it actually is mix of light blue and light yellow.
It can also be used as a wedding bouquet.
Light purple Ajisai is also beautiful.
Very vivid beautiful color. What color is this?? Purple?
I thought this was a different kind of Ajisai.
But apparently this Ajisai hasn’t bloom completely.
It starts blooming from outside and inside hasn’t bloom. Interesting!
