Risk with tourist business

Jay and I are planning to open our own guest house Omoide House in Kyoto.

But seeing how natural disaster such as earthquake affects tourist business, it’s kind of scary.

2 large earthquake recently attacked Kumamoto and a lot of evacuatees are still living outside of their home.

Kumamoto is a famous tourist place. They have many natural tourist spots such as mountains, hot springs, volcanoes, etc. It’s where Jay’s been the first time in Japan and he always talked about how he wants to bring me there.

But due to the earthquake, many people canceled their trips to Kumamoto and hotels that are usually full are suddenly empty…

What if it happens to our Omoide House? You can’t really stop or know in advance what will happen with the nature. Fortunately, Kyoto is known for having not much earthquake. That’s also one of the reasons why we want to open our guest house in Kyoto.

When you start a new business, there are always risks that follow.

Natural disasters are one of the big risks that follow for us.

What we can do is to follow the rules properly so our guest house is earthquake resistant. Japan is probably the most advanced in terms of earthquake resistant building.

Okami 🙄
