It’s unlikely Kyushu Shinkansen will be fixed before the Golden Week

Japan’s largest holiday, Golden Week, is coming up soon.
This year, if you take Monday and Friday off, you basically get 10 days of holiday. It’s the longest ever.
Even Japanese people, who are infamous of not taking any vacation, plan to take a long vacation this year.
Many people visit their family in the country side during the Golden Week.

I’m sure many people have planned to visit Kumamoto.

Kyushu Shinkansen stopped running since the Kumamoto earthquake on April 14th. JR Kyushu announced they plan to fix Kyusu Shinkansen before the beginning of the long holiday but due to another big earthquake on the 16th, the damage has become bigger than they expected.
Unfortunately, it’s unlikely Kyushu Shinkansen will be fixed before the Golden Week.

A lot of people who planned to visit Kumamoto and expected to have happy time with their family might be suffering due to the damage of the Kumamoto earthquake.
Family members outside of Kumamoto must be worried so much about the safety of their family.

I hope the best and pray for their safety…  😥
